Challenge

Microservices, storage and database had to move from AWS to Azure without downtime — and the database itself had to change engine on the way, from Aurora MySQL to SQL Server.

Solution

A staged migration: infrastructure as code to build and test the new Azure environment, workloads moved in stages, dependencies switched only after full testing, and a final synchronization to capture everything written during the switchover. The cutover was seamless for dependent services.

Implementation

  • 01Migration divided into stages to keep risk small
  • 02Services adjusted to match the Azure architecture
  • 03Staging environment built and tested through infrastructure as code
  • 04Final cutover synchronized modified data and validated every service in production

Business impact

A fully modernized, high-performance platform on Azure

Zero downtime for dependent services during the migration

Improved system stability and cloud resource alignment
